Field Reporting along with Queensland University Students

The 20 students from Queensland University, Australia who had visited AUM in September 2016 were accompanied by students of Amity School of Communication for field reporting from 25th September to 30th September 2016. The students and their buddies had a tour of various locations in and around Mumbai for the purpose of covering their respective stories. Among them were story on dabbawalas of Mumbai, story on sexuality in India which required a visit to an NGO, story on domestic abuse and child abuse, visit to a clothing factory, story on how story-telling has evolved over the years, visit to a Bollywood studio, story on cricket culture in India, visit to Dharavi, campus shoot of Amity Mumbai, story on women-centric series and their popularity in India, video documentary on the lives of women in India, story on kaali peeli taxi art, story on Irani bakery, story on Jewish temple, coping with disabilities in Mumbai, meeting a temple guru, story on mental illness, covering of a magazine on women issues among many more.

The 6-day field work was a thrilling as well as stimulating experience for all the students involved. The resulting stories out of the field work can be found at jacdigital.com.au, which is a website for students of University of Queensland’s school of Communication and Arts. The site showcases the work of journalism and professional communication students and and also provides forums for groups associated with the school’s research interest.
