AMITY UNIVERSITY GURGAON CELEBRATED 70th INDEPENDENCE DAY

“I Love my freedom, I respect my freedom

I salute the real Heroes who gave me freedom”

The 70th Independence was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism at Amity University Gurgaon, Haryana. The ceremony took place at the Hostel Plaza with large gathering of faculty, staff and hostellers.

The function started with flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, Respected Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor AUG. It was accompanied with rendition of the National Anthem by choir group and supported by an orchestra.

The Chief Guest addressing the student exhorted them to inculcate National values relating to patriotism, courage, empathy and truthfulness. India’s strength lay in its youths. Bearing the youngest population worldwide, the Nation was on the threshold of an economic, industrial and cultural revolution. All this and more would be made possible by the indulgence and commitment of a dynamic and hardworking youth. From amongst the youth of today leaders of tomorrow will emerge.

The VC and Pro VC speaking on the subject reminded the students that freedom had been won at a great price. The sacrifices of our forebears in the freedom struggle was instrumental is removing the shackles of British Raj.

Speeches of tiny tots received overwhelming applause. Group and solo Dance were performed by hostellers to the beat of patriotic songs sung by the Amity Orchestra.

After cultural performances a quiz was organized on topics related to India’s Independence struggle. A multiple choice question paper was prepared and distributed amongst the students. Around 300 students participated in the quiz.

 

A Special initiative was taken by Amitians on Independence day i.e. called Tree Plantation Program. A large number of enthusiastic volunteers participated in the tree plantation. In all 150 saplings were planted.
