Amity University Gurgaon Celebrated National Innovation Conclave “The Kumbh of Innovation 2016” on 28th September

Amity University Gurgaon Celebrated Innovation and Creativity “The Kumbh of Innovation 2016” on 28th September, 2016. The Chief Guest of the day was Dr Deepak Pental, Former Vice Chancellor, Delhi University  and Dr W Selvamurthy, President of ASTIF  who was the Guest of Honour. Guests also encouraged the amazing work done by the students presented at Innovation Exhibition.

Dr. Pental took keen interest in the innovative projects and the high impact funded research projects at AUH. Dr. Selvamurthy was also highly appreciative of the euphoria for cutting edge research and innovations at AUG.

Dr. Pental in his key note address expressed his profound happiness in visiting AUG on such an important occasion as the day for celebrating innovations and creativity. He was highly impressed to see the commendable progress that AUG has made during the last 3 years. He opined that the future of higher education belongs to those who place research and innovations on the forefront of the university activities and create an environment in which the teachers and students engage to create new knowledge, new scientific knowhow and new technology. He further emphasized the need for society and industry centric research and was happy to see that Amity University is making a strong headway in this regard. He shared his own experience of scientific research in the area of genetically engineered mustered crop for which he and his team is known worldwide. But despite the fact that the over 12 years have passed,the technology has not yet reached the farmers as the lobby opposing GM food is unable to digest the benefits of the Genetically engineered mustered crop for improved quality and yield that the farmers will have, he added. In countries abroad the gap between the laboratory level research and the launch of innovated product is now narrowed down to bare minimum. This we need to do in our country he added. 

Dr W Selvamurthy, President, ASTIF, made a highly inspiring presentation on “Opportunities and Excitement of Funded Projects and Innovative Product Development”. He emphasized on 5 Ps for Research ie Projects, Patents, Publications of high impact, PhD and Presentations. There is no dearth of money for funding quality research, however it requires projects that are well formulated and are relevant to the national and global needs, he emphasized. He shared the excitement of funded research and patenting at Amity University and the way it is driving the Amity University towards high global recognition and a wider appreciation by the national bodies such as ICMR, ICAR, DBT, DST, BARC, ISRO and other reputed research funding organizations. It is only through world class research that our faculty shall gain worldwide acclaim he added. 

The second session, post lunch was chaired by Dr Rajendra Prasad, Vice President, INSA and Director, AIB & AIISH.The session was addressed by following speakers. 

 Future Education and Concept of Meta University by Anna Grom, Director NOTO , Moscow

 Funded Research and way forward” by Prof. Rajendra Prasad, Vice President, INSA and Director, AIB & AIISH

 Research and Innovation in Cancer Therapy” by Dr Raj Tiwari, Program Director, Professor of Immunology, New York Medical College, US

 On Publication of Research Papers in Scopus Journals of high impact”Dr. J.S. Sodhi, Vice President, IT, RBEF .

 In this session, first address was made by Ms. Anna Grom, Director Noto,Moscow, Russia. She shared her experiences and journey of the life from a Lawyer to Actor and now as Director of the NGO – NOTO. She shared the role and importance of the disciple, dedication and commitment towards the goal of the life and also expressed her thoughts on future education that shall foster a new era of ICT driven teaching learning environment benefiting millions of seekers of the education and work relevant capability development.  

Dr Raj Tiwari, Program Director, Professor of Immunology, New York Medical College, US addressed the session on the various recent researches and innovation into the field of the Cancer Therapy. The advancements and the technological growth into the subject were appreciated by one and all.

In his highly inspiring address, Dr. J.S. Sodhi, Vice President - IT, RBEF emphasis the need for focusing on high impact publications in Scopus Journals and other reputed refereed Journals that are internationally cited. It is only through such focus that our universities can earn high global ranking and our faculties shall achieve high eminence.

The post lunch session was followed by the Cultural programs that includes the performance of the Haryanvi Dance, dance on mathematical correlation depicting their positive and negative in dance form, synthesis between the Gulf and Indian classical music, Innovation display of the fashion design all by the students of AUG The day ended with NukadNatak by the student of the ‘EkAwaz' Dramatics Club of the AUG on the theme Road Safety.
