Amity College of Nursing, Gurgaon organized In Service Education programme on ANC

Amity College of Nursing, Amity university Gurgaon organized In Service Education programme on ANC ( Ante Natal Care) on 26th August 2016. The aim of conducting this Programme was to upgrade the knowledge and   increase the awareness about Ante Natal Care during pregnancy among ASHA workers because they play a major role to educate antenatal mother regarding institutional delivery and care during pregnancy. Antenatal care services are the first steps towards ensuring the health of mothers and the newborn.

This is the key component for achieving Millennium Development Goals by 2015. But India's performance continues to be poor in providing antenatal care services to its huge population, particularly in the rural areas. Hence it’s very important for the public to be aware about the antenatal care and utilization of ANC services. The programme was appreciated by ASHA workers and Medical Officer of PHC Bhangrola, Gurgaon.

The main aim of this programme is to make awareness regarding utilization of the MCH services, proper care during pregnancy and to promote institutional deliveries. The in service education programme was given to 36 ASHA workers. The participants expressed that the whole education programme was very informative and highly beneficial to them and they will spread their knowledge with antenatal mothers in their community.
