Tracking of Publications
A talk on ‘Tracking of your publications and Patent Applications’ was organized by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research, Amity University Mumbai on August 9, 2016. The invited speaker for the day was Mr Cedric Joseph, CEO, CIntelligence Services Pvt Ltd, Bangalore.
Mr Joseph elaborate on the possibility of preparing a customized database for the University as per its requirements. This database would be able to categorize the publications school-wise / author details / journal / impact factor / h-index etc. This will help in immediate analysis of existing data for publications that have been done by the faculty. The CIntelligence firm can also help in preparing a similar database for patent applications filed by the faculty of the University. Mr Joseph offered to facilitate the initial searching of select databases for prior art search which is an important aspect for patent filing. Selection of journals pertinent to the article for publication for the faculty w.r.t. peer-review and impact factor can also be assisted by the firm.
The organization has been working with some leading Indian Universities and has the know-how of creating and managing the database for Universities. Mr Cedric Joseph had held a similar meeting with the AUUP faculty and it would be indeed beneficial for the Amity Group to look at a customized database, which may be accessed by every sister University in the group. A MOU (Memorandum of understanding) should be put in place prior to sharing of any and every information.
