An industrial visit to Amtek Auto Ltd, Bhiwadi, Rajasthan ON 27TH July 2016
An industrial visit to Amtek Auto Ltd, Bhiwadi, Rajasthan was organized by Amity School of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with CRC, AUH, as a part of orientation program for first year B.Tech. students. A total of 20-25 students were selected for the same. Students belonged to Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Aerospace Engineering, first year B.Tech. courses. Faculty coordinators assigned to go along with the students were Ms. Ulya Sabeel and Mr. Tejender Rawat. The agenda of the visit was to make the students aware about the current trends in the industry and to give them some exposure.
OCL Iron & Steel Limited [OISL] was established in the year 2001-02 as coal based Direct Reduced Iron [DRI] production unit at Rajgangpur, District Sundergarh, Orissa. It is strategically located in the Iron Ore and Coal rich belt of Eastern India with Govt. allocated Iron Ore and Coal Blocks in proximity.
In the end, he also discussed about their vision and mission to achieve 5 Million Tone steel capacity and 1500 MW power capacity by 2018 with backward raw material linkages and specialized value added finished products by engaging various stakeholders in the growth process.
Overall, it was an overwhelming experience where the industry people shared their insights and gave new perspectives which can lead to further sustainable action and fruitful information. The visit was then concluded with thanks from the manager of the company and the other participants.
