 Amity School of Applied Science,Amity University Gurgaon organized Guest Lecture on Development and working of the Hydro Power Stations by Mr. Yogeshwar Kumar,Secretary NGO, Jansamarth on 28th July 2016 . It provides a platform not only to students but also to faculties to interact with expert person in this field and get a deep insight into various career options (in research and in industry) available to them and work towards the upliftment of society. The session inspires students to innovate and think for solution to existing and future problems, develops confidence to decide future academic career.

Mr.Yogeshwar Kumar who is a secretary of a NGO named JANSAMARTH. All his life he has been doing social work in the hills, as far apart as Uttarakhand, Kargil in Kashmir, Leh in Ladakh etc.  He has been working for the development of the hydro power stations and has taken up the initiation of setting up of hydropower stations in different small places in allover India like Kashmir, Ladakh, kalahandi, Pangethiect and some parts of Orissa with a bigger vision. He works through his NGO Jansamarth for development of the villages by using the electricity to set up small enterprises and creating jobs. In his three decades of service to rural people he has built 15 hydro-electric power stations which are manned and operated by villagers themselves, who use the power to run rural enterprises like atta-chakki (flour-mill), oil-mill, sawmill, and welding workshops. Mr. R.K. Thakur, HOI, ASAS gave vote of thanks to Mr. Yogeshwar for his valuable talk.
