Corporate Resource Center of Amity University Gurgaon organized Industrial Visit to National Brain Research Center (NBRC) Gurgaon on 28th July 2016 for students of aibas, acon, ams, aib. Mr Hridya from NBRC welcomed & gave a brief orientation about the Institute.
Students visited Neuroanatomy lab first, where Ms Mukta detailed about the structure and functions of human brain.Then,she described the research activities being conducted about the learning and memory functions of the brain. Post that, Students visited neurophysiology lab where he explained about the lab functions where they stimulate neurons with electric current and check responses of other neurons. Next, Neuro AIDS lab was visited where Dr Pankaj and Ms Priyanka explained about the research work on glial cells and neurons and how various neuro- toxin proteins like TAT effect these cells.
Total 97 students and faculty members from AIB, AMS, ACON & AIBAS visited NBRC. The students also visited lab related to research on the effects of Japanese encephalitis virus on brain.
The major attention of this visit were the FMRI, EEG & ERP in Neuro-spectroscopy lab. Neuroanatomy research lab, Neuro-Biotech lab, computerized Neuroscience lab and Molecular lab were enthusiastically visited and liked by the students.
Finally, the students visited National Neuroimaging lab where Mr. Vinod explained about MRI & EEG.
The students got acquainted with the sophisticated research equipment and witnessed high end research in real time. Students also got an opportunity to ask questions from research scholars and witness and understand working of MRI scan in real time.
