 Amity Institute of Biotechnology Students Visited Advanced Instrumentation Research Facility (AIRF) – Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi on 5th April 2016. The educational visit was an incredible experience to view the world class analytical facilities in AIRF A meeting with Prof (Dr) Rakesh Tyagi, Director – AIRF and Special Centre for Molecular Medicine - JNU was interactive. He briefed about the institute, that AIRF was a vision of Prof (Dr) Rajendra Prasad and it has been created with an objective of providing a central facility of latest and advanced analytical instruments for research. The application area of AIRF are physical, environmental, biological, allied and interdisciplinary sciences. It caters to the interdisciplinary applications to all the Science Schools at JNU as well as to the research institutes and private industries in NCR. Today AIRF serves as an academic, research and scientific service provider to the whole country, its outcome is to give world class facility to benefit the research community in India.

 
This was a wonderful visit for BT students and all got excited to see the facilities and sense the world class research culture. The students learnt about the working principle of the above techniques and application of equipment’s and role in the field of Biotechnology.


This made them understand on the bio physical and bio analytical techniques from book to research outcomes.
