Amity College of Nursing, Amity University, Gurgaon Celebrated World health day

 Amity College of Nursing, Amity University,  Gurgaon celebrated World Health Day on the theme of Beat Diabetes on 7th April 2016 at Artemis Hospital, Sector 51, Gurgaon. Students under the Supervision and Guidance of Ms. White Rose, MSN, RNRM Tutor, Community Health Nursing, Amity College of Nursing. 

 
The aim of conducting this Programme was to increase the awareness about Diabetes and its prevention among people. Some facts which WHO has documented about India is that in India as Diabetes is fast gaining the status of a potential epidemic with more than 62 million diabetic individuals currently diagnosed with the disease. The level of morbidity and mortality due to diabetes and its potential complications are enormous, and pose significant healthcare burdens on both families and society. Hence it’s very important for the public to be aware about the seriousness of this disease. The programme was appreciated by audience and Nursing Superintendent of Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon, and she requested us to do this as an part of in-service education programme for the Nursing staff of Artemis Hospital,Sec 51 Gurgaon . At the end of the programme an open discussion round was conducted for clarifications of audience myths regarding diabetes. The programme ended up with the Good wishes to all Audience-“HAPPY WORLD HEALTH DAY.
 
The post education session was conducted and all the queries of the audience were answered. The participants expressed that the health education was very informative and highly beneficial to them. Efforts of students were acknowledged by the staff and nurse educator team of the Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon. The session ended with a vote of thanks by the group.
