International Language Day

Amity University Gurgaon Organized International Language Day on 15th March 2016

The Amity School of Languages organized the International Language Day at the Amity University, Gurgaon on March 15, 2016. The event was aimed to raise the awareness about the foreign languages taught and spoken in the campus, the cultures to which they are related and the  of potential international employers. Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Russian and Korean were in the focus. The event brought together students, academicians, representatives of embassies and cultural institutes and companies with roots abroad.

The main speakers were Prof. Charanjit Singh, Ex-Chairperson, CRS, JNU delivered a Lecture on Strategic role of Foreign Languages on Make in India & Skill Develop Initiative of Govt. of India. Prof. S.P. Ganguly, Ex-Chairperson, CSPILAS, JNU delivered a Lecture on Culture in Transfer: Cross Cultural and Trans cultural Communication and Kim Kum-Pyoung. Director, Korean cultural centre India, Embassy of Republic of Korea spoke about the presence of Indian cultural influences in Korea and that of Korean culture in India. Students from all the streams actively participated in the event and cultural performances to the food fest their participation was exceptional.
