Amity School of Engineering and Technology organizes RC PLANE FLYING ACTIVITY ON 26th January 2016

The Department of Aerospace Engineering, in collaboration with PANAM Aero Modeling Club, organized a promotional RC Planes Flying Event on 26th of January, 2016 at Parasailing Ground at AUH Campus. The event was attended by Honorable VC Sir, AUH, Prof. (Dr.) P. B. Sharma, Dean (Student Welfare) Maj. Gen. G. S. Bal, faculty and staff of various departments and schools and by students of the University. The enthusiasm and active participation of the students as well as faculties of the university made the event a great success.

The time span of the event was approximately 3 hours during which various types of RC aircrafts and helicopter were flown by the members of the PANAM Aero Modeling Club. A great deal of interaction with the esteemed and experienced members of the club was fueled by the curiosity of the students. Some of the students of the Department of Aerospace Engineering were given the opportunity to get hands-on experience in RC flying. The RC Plane fleet comprised of notable aircrafts and helicopters which ranged from Electric Powered planes, 2-cylinder piston engine aircrafts to a 7 Cylinder radial piston engine powered aircraft.

PANAM is a group of Aero Modeling enthusiasts who are committed to having fun while making and flying their models and promoting this hobby to the younger generation. As hobbyists, we have made all sorts of fixed wing remote control planes powered by small 7.5 cc engines right up to 160 cc multi cylinder scale engines, and we also have requisite expertise in electric planes, helicopters and multicomputer. They do patterns and scale flying, and also the exhilarating 3d flying which is at the forefront of both the hobby and many international Aero Modeling and RC meets. They have, in fact, just returned from a very successful participation in an international meet in Aamby Valley City, near Lonavla, Maharashtra, organized by India's foremost Aero Modeling club, Wings India of Mumbai.
