A one day workshop on Qualnet and SENSEnuts Tools was successfully conducted at Amity University Haryana, Gurgaon by EIGEN Technology Pvt. Ltd. on 5th November, 2015. Mr. Rajeshwar Singh (SR. Design Manager), Mr. Somil Saxena (Manager Technical) and Mr. Sharad Varshney (Manager) detailed their valuable thoughts on the topic. Students of B. Tech. (CSE Final Year), M. Tech. (CSE & ECE), MCA M.Sc. (NTM) and Ph. D. candidates attended the workshop. The workshop gave an opportunity to discuss scope of Research, Job opportunities, challenges in the workshop topic. Mr. Rajeshwar Singh explained about the simulation tool. In nutshell, QualNet enables users to, Design new protocol models, Optimize new and existing models, Design large wired and wireless networks using pre-configured or user-designed models, Analyze the performance of networks and perform what-if analysis to optimize them, Qualnet is vastly used for Scalable Network Technology and provides GUI for almost all simulation needs. This will allow the Under Graduate and post graduate and Ph. D. students to undertake their Projects and Thesis in Networks. For those who are not conversant with writing scripts, this simulator provides all the required GUI to test a particular proposed topology or protocol. It is a wide area (campus wide) network design and visualization tool suited for Research Scholars, as this is the need of the time. It also assists in designing Packet Tracers that generates trace files for understanding and designing security protocols.

SENSEnutsT has been designed and developed by EIGEN indigenously. It is the most affordable, advanced and compact WSN research platform developed by Industry Experts. This platform is useful for academic, research and industrial applications to benefit the students, faculties and scientists across various domains. The tool is Supported by user friendly GUI, seamlessly integrated with sensor node to monitor as well as program for various applications. It can be used in various application domains such as Environment monitoring, Security implementation, Home automation, Industrial control, Precision Agriculture, Smart cities etc The major highlights of the SENSE nuts T are its ‘C’ Language based programming, Exhaustive set of easy to use APIs, Comprehensive Long term support, Flexible MAC protocol implementation and Protocol code development above layer 2.
The demo for smart systems, IOTs was given by Mr. Rajeshwar Singh. Through SENSEnuts Tool, he demonstrated and showed the live example that how one can monitor the system intelligently from office to home or at any places. The session was very interesting in terms of practical knowledge. Some research objectives were covered in terms of challenges in wireless sensor networks to the researchers and students.
Outcome: The workshop ended with questioning and answering session and was quite interesting as students received a lots of knowledge about the simulation tools and networking technologies. After this workshop students and faculty were confident about the scope of the networking tools for wired and wireless technologies, networks topologies, security implementations, IOT etc. and feedback of students and staff was excellent in valuable mean. The students as well as colleagues got benefitted with this workshop and now they have an opportunity to explore and translate their research ideas into a Simulation, so as to achieve the desired goals.
