Amity University Gurgaon, Department of Market Promotions organized Workshop One Day@My College for School Students to give them real life experience on the preferred course that Students would choose after completing their Intermediate. 12 workshops were simultaneously organized in various institutes (Engineering, Forensic Science & Chemistry, Fine Arts, Hospitality, Fashion, Architecture, Law, Psychology, Biotechnology, Management& Commerce, Medical – Optometry/Dietics & Nutrition, Mass Communication) of university. Workshop started with a introductory note by Mr. Sachin Juneja, Director – Market Promotions, AUG who mentions about the recent survey reports of NSDC and NASSCOMM which states that Student are either don’t have the ability to get the job or they are not been able to relate themselves even after completion of their course that means they lack in aptitude or interest. So Understanding this Issue, this Year University decided to take this one step ahead by inviting students to experience College life and their preferred course interest in a workshop format, He mentions. Approx 275 Students from Amity International School, Sec 43, Sec 46 and Swiss Cottage School Gurgaon. This was followed by a TALK on “Happiness & Success” by Prof Dr Padmakali Banerjee, Pro Vice Chancellor, AUG. In her mesmerizing style of interaction, she asked the students to Follow PERMA which is Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaningfulness and Accomplishments. She emphasized the students to engage in meaningful relationships to be happy which can contribute to their success. Post this, Honorable Vice Chancellor of the University – Prof Dr P B Sharma interacted with Students and asked the students to put their focus on Research & Innovation – be it in any field. He asked the science students to be more innovative and creative while addressing science problems. He motivates the students by inviting them to visit Amity Gurgaon Innovation Gallery where student made projects are on display which has brought attention from corporate and government players. Maj Gen V K Narang, Director – ASET, Maj Gen P K Sharma, Director – Law and Prof Archana Shukla, Director – AIBAS graced the occasion with their presence. Session was ended with vote of thanks.
