Industrial Visit TO National Centre for Disease Control, Delhi

 

A visit to National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Sham Nath Marg, New Delhi was organized as a part of the requirement M.Sc nursing - Community Health Nursing specialitiy. The students of B.Sc nursing 7th Semester (23 students) were taken for the visit under the supervision of faculty Ms. Minu Joseph. The B.Sc nursing students were given certain objectives like understanding the working of the NCDC centre. The students were taken to the NCDC on 10/09/2015. Students and the faculty reached the NCDC, New Delhi around 10:30 AM. The Assistant Director of the Environmental and Occupational Science department Mr. Pranil Kamlesh welcomed the students into the auditorium which is situated in the heritage building of the NCDC campus. There were various sessions by the Department of Epidemiology, Entomology, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), Vector Borne Disease Control Department, Strategic Health Operation Centre and Information and Communication Technology department. They have given the orientation to the new physical set up of the centre and various departments presented their areas of expertise with major achievements. The students had interaction with the departmental people there and various doubts related to public health and various vector borne diseases were cleared. Students had interactive session for 2-3 hours. The session by Dr. Ruchi, Department of IDSP (Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme ) was the most entertaining and interactive and most liked by the students.
