Amity University Madhya Pradesh Organized an Expert Lecture on Automative Techniques and Research and Development activities carried out at the VRDE to make the country self-reliant in term of the needs of defense forces

Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University Madhya Pradesh organized an Expert lecture of Dr. Manmohan Singh, distinguished Scientist and Director, Vehicle Research & Development Establishment, Ahmadnagar on 18 August 2015 in its premises at Maharajpur. In his address the Speaker covered various aspects of automotive techniques and research and development activities carried out at the VRDE to make the country self-reliant in term of the needs of defence forces. Students were made aware of the various facilities available in this field.

Dr. Singh spoke of the advances in the field of automobiles and talked of the emission control techniques and alternative fuels being used.  The speaker elaborated upon the various techniques used to make the automobile more reliable and safe. The procedure of testing automobiles and calibration of the same was also explained to the students.

The Speaker dwelt on the intricacies of biodiesel production and its implication on engine performance vis a vis the conventional fossil fuel. Both the advantages and disadvantages of using biodiesel were explained to the students.

Dr. Singh also spoke of the technologies developed by the VRDE for mobile launchers, amphibious vehicles and armored vehicles as well as unmanned arial and ground vehicles, Wankel engine and Bramhos missile launcher.

The students of ASET were enthusiastic and posed various questions which were thoroughly dealt with by the expert. The lecture was attended by a large number of students and dignitaries of the university.
