Industrial Visit of 1st Semester at Amtek Auto Limited Dharuhera
Industrial visit for the Fresher’s was organized at Amtek Auto Limited Dharuhera on 30.07.2015 which was an enriching experience for the students to see how companies work and also useful information related to the course which cannot be visualized in lectures.
The Amtek Group, headquartered in India, is one of the largest integrated component manufacturers in India with a strong global presence. It has also become one of the world’s largest global forging and integrated machining companies. The Group has operations across Forging, Iron and Aluminium Casting, Machining and Sub-Assemblies. It has world-class facilities across India, UK, Germany, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Hungary and US. The Amtek Group is comprised of corporate entities Amtek Auto, JMT Auto, Amtek Global Technologies and other subsidiaries and associates. With the infrastructure and technology platform developed over 25 years, the Group is well positioned in the Indian Auto and Non-Auto component markets. The company is manufacturing crankshaft for MARUTI SUZUKI LTD., SKODA, HYUNDAI, FORD & TATA MOTORS.
First the students were guided to a common room where they were given presentation about Amtek Auto Limited. After the presentation there was a question answer round wherein all the queries of the students were satisfactorily answered.
Then the students were guided to process line and their engineer explained about various processes (drilling, parting, boring, honing, laser cutting etc.) carried out there. The industrial visit, thus met its purpose by giving the students the opportunity to learn through observation needed for budding engineers. The day the students spent attending the industrial visit was enjoyable and useful.
