Workshop on “Learner centric Pedagogy in Foreign Language Teaching”
A workshop on “Learner centric Pedagogy in Foreign Language Teaching” was conducted in The Amity School of Languages on 22nd of July, 2015. Dr (Mrs.) Soundaram Arul Dean Arts faculty, was the key speaker. She shared with the faculty members various effective methods of teaching foreign languages and their fruitful execution.The Objectives of a Foreign Language teacher, how to optimize communication in Class room, how to identify Student's profile and implement a successful suitable pedagogy, shift from Communicative Language Teaching approach (CLT) to Task Based Language Teaching (TBLL) were some of the topics discussed in great detail. She also shared the inputs from the seminar she attended recently in CIEP- Centre International d'Etudespedagogiques -International Centre for Pedagogic Studies.
2)The workshop was conducted in two sessions. The first session was held from 11.00 A.M- 1:00 P.M and the second session was held from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 P.M. The participants actively participated in various activities performed for practical understanding of the theories. It was a very interactive session which opened up several new platforms in the field of imparting knowledge. Overall, the workshop was a great learning experience for all and was successfully executed.
