National Innovation Conclave 2015 at Amity University Gurgaon

  1.0 Innovation Policy of India

 As per the Science Technology Innovation Policy 2013 (STIP 2013) of the Government of India, Science,Technology and Innovation have been acknowledged as the major drivers of national development globally. Coupled with the recently launched ambitious campaign, “Make in India” by the present Government, to create innovation and investment friendly environment in the country, many countries are now looking forward to collaborate with India in this venture. The success of the “Make in India” mission will get an added boost by the simultaneous campaign of “Innovate in India” mission. This will enhance the competitiveness of Indian enterprises and also create investment friendly environment to attract foreign investors. Academia and entrepreneurs in India need far greater encouragement to innovate and thus act as catalysts in making “Make in India” mission highly successful.

 

2.0 National Innovation Conclave 2015 at Amity University Gurgaon (AUG)

With a view to foster innovative thinking, new product development, technology incubation, new age enterprises and startups, andto nurture the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly among our youth, a two-day “National Innovation Conclave 2015” is being organised  on Sep 28-29, 2015 at Amity University Gurgaon (AUG), Amity Education Valley, Manesar, Gurgaon, Haryana-122413.

 It will be our endeavor to involve a wider cross-section of young innovators and students from across the country to participate in this Conclave.

 The conclave will comprise of

 (i)     Invited Speakers. 

(ii)    Oral presentation of papers by researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, faculty and students.

(iii)   Poster presentations by students and faculty, innovators on their innovative ideas, designs, concepts and innovated systems.

(iv) Business Plan Competition on new-age enterprises & startups.

(v)   Panel Discussion by the experts to deliberate on "Creating Innovation Ecosystem In Indian Universities and Colleges", and

(vi)  Exhibition of Innovated products/innovation-based projects/working models/ by the students, faculty, researchers, entrepreneurs and the Industry.

 

There will be a Jury comprising of expert members to judge the award winners in various categories.  

3.0 Amity University

Amity University has been ranked # 1 “Not-for-Profit” Private University in India (source: India Today). It is ranked among the top universities in Asia by QS. Amity University has filed over600 patents, which is more than any university/institute in India. More than 1000 case studies have been developed by its Faculty which have been acquired and accepted by over 60 countries across the globe. Amity university has more than 125,000 students and 4500 reputed Faculty in its 8 campuses in India. It has published over 6000 research papers and 500 books.  Amity University has over 300 funded research projects and also “Innovation Incubation” facility that has given rise to around 100 enterprises.

 

3.1 Amity University Gurgaon (AUG)

Amity University Gurgaon (AUG) is one of the 8 campuses of Amity University in India. AUG is spread over 110 acres of next-gen campus near Manesar on Delhi-Jaipur Highway (NH-8). AUG is deeply committed to society and industry relevant research, innovations and new product development and is focussed on areas of high relevance to our Nation's development. The university  is equipped with over 180 state-of-the-art laboratories, Centers of Excellence in Robotics, Stem-cell research, Nanomaterials, Clean Energy Technologies, Water Technologies, BRIC Studies, Financial Analysis  and a well stacked library subscribing to  a large number of e-journals, 3000-seater residential accommodation for its students and staff, and a 20-acre sports complex. More than 125 disciplines / programmes are currently being run by about 24 schools / institutes at Amity University Gurgaon.With its focus on the solution of challenges faced by the society and the Industry, AUG is engaged in innovation-driven R&D in the frontal areas and product development. AUG was awarded as the “Best Higher Education University in India” in 2015 by ASSOCHAM. It was adjudged as the “Winner of Innovation in Teaching Pedagogy” at the World Education Summit, and the “Best Innovation in Industry Integration” by the Hindustan Times. These are a few amongst a large number of honours and achievements won by AUG.  

4.0 Objective of the Innovation Conclave

  This Conclave aims at bringing together all the stakeholders, viz., Industry, Academia, Innovators, Entrepreneurs, R&D organisations, and Policy makers to synergistically discuss, share, display and learn about the cutting edge innovations and technologies that can help enhancing the productivity, improve quality of production,enhanceself-reliance and act as a catalyst to the economic growth of the country.

4.3 Call for Full Papers/ Write-up on Projects/Working Models/Business Plans 

Soft Copies of Full Research Papers (along with an “ABSTRACT”) for oral/poster presentations and/or write-up on the projects/working models/business plans etc. are invited from the scientists, faculty, students, entrepreneurs, innovators, industrialists and others.

 

The research papers, Posters, Innovated products, Working Models and Business Plans should mainly focus on scientific, technological or social innovation of vital relevance to the industry and society. The submission should have a clear objective of challenging the state of art and should have real world applications. Importance should be given to strong transdisciplinary flavour involving wherever possible an interdisciplinary student team and mentors.

4.4 Review of manuscripts and publication

The papers/ write-up on projects etc. will be reviewed by experts in the relevant areas. Accepted papers will be published in a Compendium. Only full papers will be reviewed, and not just the ‘Abstracts’. The Compendium would be ready before the date of commencement of Conference.

4.5 Format of the Manuscripts

Manuscripts of the Papers should be typed in MS-Word Document, single space, single column (NOT double column) on A-4 size paper, with a one-inch margin on all four sides, in ‘Times New Roman”, with font-size 12, justified. Title of the paper should be in capital letters, centered & bold (font size 14, not underlined). All the authors should mention their complete postal address, Email IDs & Mobile numbers. Abstract should contain a maximum of 200 words (Font size 10, centered). Maximum six Keywords (Italics, Font size 10, Left justified) should be mentioned immediately following the ‘Abstract’. Titles as well as subtitles should be serial numbered, bold and left justified (Font size 12). Each paper must contain a ‘CONCLUSION’ just before the References. References should be as per the standard IEEE format. Figure & Tables should be serial numbered, centered, and should occur at the intended places (and NOT towards the end) of the Paper. An Undertaking for Authors’ original contribution should be clearly highlighted on a separate page, signed by all the authors and scanned copy emailed. Maximum length of the Paper (including the ‘Abstract’) should not exceed six A-4 size pages. Minimum length should be two pages.

 

5.0 Deadlines:

6.0 Panel Discussion

One of the highlights of National Innovation Conclave 2015 will be a “Panel Discussion” on the topic Creating Innovation Ecosystem in Indian Universities and Colleges”.Persons of eminence will take part in it along with an involvement from the delegates.

7.0 Exhibition

-          National Conclave 2015 will provide an excellent opportunity to the students, faculty, entrepreneurs, innovators, institutions, companies, vendors and others to showcase their products/working models/business plans and interact with the key decision makers, recommending authorities, industrialists, scientists, teachers and students from all over the country.

-          Exhibitors will be encouraged to give live demonstration of their products, wherever feasible and convenient.

-          Each exhibitor will be given a sufficient space and electrical connections etc., as per the requirement.

 

 8.0 Registration Fee for Participants:  

For oral & poster presentations, the registration fee is Rs. 500/- per student and Rs. 1000/- per person for all others. For the team of non-students (like entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers, representatives of the industry etc.), the registration fee is Rs. 5,000/- per team. However, there will be no registration fee for the invitees.

9.0 Advertisement in the Conference Proceedings

Exhibitors and other companies are encouraged to advertise in the Conference Proceedings. The rates for the advertisements are:
