Visit of Dr Neeti Parashar Professor of Physics, Purdue University at Amity University, Gurgaon

 Dr. Neeti Parashar, Professor of Physics, Purdue University, visited the AUH campus on 3rd June 2015 along with Dr. Namita Sahay, Assistant Professor, Amity International Business School, and AUUP. The event was organized at the B-Block auditorium of AUH. After the initial interaction with guests in the networking tea at the VIP lounge, the programme started at around 11 a.m. Dr Subhra Das, HOD, Department of Renewable Energy, ASAS, introduced the guests& dignitaries to the esteemed audience (which comprised of around 65-70 faculty members from different schools of AUH and 40-50 undergraduate & postgraduate students. After the introduction, a floral welcome was extended to the guests by Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee & Dr. Gunjan Sanjeev, Director, International Affairs, AUH.

The introductory speech was given by Prof (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee. In her usual dynamic & inspiring note, she gave an outline of the philosophy, work style & achievements of

Amity University Haryana. She discussed about the various Centers for Excellences, Industry Integration Aptitude & the blending of exuberance of youth to matured experience especially in terms of Faculty-student relationship.

After the refreshing & thoughtful opening remarks from the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Neeti Parashar [an extremely eminent name in the field of modern day High-Energy Physics] started her session in a wonderfully lucid & mesmerizing way. She talked about her childhood & early career, through which she masterly revisited the value of simplicity &morals. Then in a swift note she delivered the knowledge-provoking lecture about Large-Hadron Collider Project & discovery of Higgs Boson [‘GOD PARTICLE’]. In a crisp & vivacious manner she explained the problems of particle physics, like hypothetical particles ‘Gravitrons’ etc. She gave a brief note to the relevance of discovery of Higgs Boson & it’s probable outcomes. The lecture was followed by an interactive question-answer session, where Dr. Parashar answered the queries from Students & Faculties.

In post lunch session Dr. Parashar & Dr. Sahay had a meeting with Amity Business School, AUH. Afterwards Dr. Parashar had an interactive session with Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P.B. Sharma & Faculties from Department of Physics, ASAS, AUH. The eventful day ended in a promising note & with high hopes for future mutual academic exchange & collaboration.
