AIR QUALITY AEROSOL MONITORING AT AMITY UNIVERSITY MANESAR

At a time when air quality in NCT of Delhi is causing a serious concern, the Amity University Gurgaon is intensively engaged in climate research by monitoring the aerosol in atmospheric air. It is a matter of pride to share that Professor Dr PCS Devara, Professor and Head of Amity Centre for Ocean- Atmospheric Science and Technology (Amity COAST) at Amity University Gurgaon has been conferred with the 2015 Asian Aerosol Research Assembly Fellowship Award by the Asian Aerosol Research Assembly at its 9th Asian Aerosol Conference held at Kanazawa, Japan on 26th June 2015.

Professor Devara along with his team have pioneered the research work  at AUG in the area of aerosol monitoring, modeling and analysis at the Amity COAST. They have analyzed the aerosol and environment air quality data, by using the "long range transport model" for climate research and have predicted the back ward tracing of pollutants to as far as   the Arab Gulf Region .

Prof. Devara has been able to obtain highly sophisticated advanced instruments from IITM Pune( Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune) and Aryabhatta Research Institute of  Environmental Sciences, Nainital. These instruments have been successfully installed at AUG in the Amity COAST Research Centre where  brilliant Scholars  of Amity University Gurgaon ,pursuing  M.Sc   are engaged in  carrying out meaningful  research on monitoring of Aerosol at Amity Education Valley ,Panchgaon

The Vice Chancellor Amity University Gurgaon, Prof. P B Sharma has conveyed his deep sense of appreciation and admiration for the efforts of Dr. PCS Devra  in raising the bar of climate research at AUG. In his words” Professor Devara has thus emerged as the finest example of a research driven Professor who by his relentless pursuit of research excellence could rise to the global eminence in an area of deep interest to the scientific community engaged in climate health research around the world”
