Dr. Kumar Krishen Senior Scientist of NASA visited Amity University Gurgaon

 The stars at Amity University Haryana (AUH) struck sky high with the visit of Dr. Kumar Krishen, Senior Scientist at NASA Johnsons Space Centre in Houston, Texas. Sharing close ties with the Founder President Sh Ashok K Chauhan, Honorable Chancellor Sh Aseem Chauhan and Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr.) P.B Sharma, Dr. Kumar brought a plethora of wisdom from NASA for the young researchers, students and faculty of AUH.

 Dr. Kumar invigorated the scientific minds with his workshop on ‘Innovations & Transformative Technologies with Potential for Space Applications’. He enlightened the audience on his  passion for research areas including High Temperature Superconductivity, Nano materials and nanotechnology, solar energy & 3D Printing. He expressed the pressing need of culture of Innovation and Research infrastructure at Universities in India. Innovative spaces lead to nurture Nobel Prize worthy ideas, and he commended AUH in moving forward in this direction  by its thrust on research and innovations. Dr Kumar advocated for orienting University research to the needs of the society and industry and he proposed research collaboration between Amity University Haryana and leading Universities in the USA in the field of Solar Energy Technology Development as well as 3D printing applications. He proposed that a centre for Innovations and Transformative Technologies be set up at AUH to provide a flip to new and emerging technologies that shall have the capabilities to provide solutions to pressing needs of the society in respect of energy security, environmental sustainability and well being of the vast humanity. The collaborations will provide great strength to the academic standing of Amity University at national and global levels. Maj Gen V. K. Narang, Director of Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) provided his unconditional support for this effort and resolved to undertake cross country collaboration in these areas.
