Visit to Indian Agricultural Research Institute
The students of Amity Institute of Biotechnology, AUH (M. Sc- II SEM, M. Tech.- II SEM and B. Tech. VI SEM) along with four faculties ( Dr. Manju Sharma, Dr. Dinesh Yadav, Dr. Neelam Yadav and Ms. Sikha Khandelwal) visited IARI, Pusa Road, New Delhi on 8th,April,2015.
Dr. Prashant Das, Senior Scientist, NRC on Plant Biotechnology introduced students about the various courses available at Institute and research works currently going on. The Scientists at the Institute are working on Gene sequencing of different genomes, Plant Gene Isolation, Biotic and Abiotic stress in crop plants.
The students also explored the genomic, proteomic and genetic engineering lab and were introduced to various high tech instruments available for different research related task.
In the afternoon session, students visited the National Phytotron facility and learned about the different facilities available to grow plants in controlled environment.
This visit was very useful for them to understand their subject area in detail. They all are interested to choose different streams of Biotechnology as their career.
