Amity University Gurgaon celebrated 152 birth-anniversary of Swami Vivekanand as National Youth Day
152nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand was celebrated as National Youth Day in the Amity University, spanning over two days. The celebrations consisted of the events like Games and sports events, Screening of documentary film on Life Swami Vivekanand and Declamation contest on, "The ideology of Swami Vivekanand" &"Role of youth for clean Haryana, clean India campaign.
Games & Sports.
Inter hostel games and sports were played between the hostellers in Sports Complex, AUG. The matches were played for Volleyball & Basketball in the evening from 4.30 PM onwards. The results were:-
a) Volley - ball - Winners E, F, F-1& E-1 Block Students
b) Basket - ball - Winners, E, F, F-1, E-1 Block Students
The matches were witnessed by students, hostel staff, DD- Hostels and Gen Gurpal Singh Bal, DSW & Director Hostels & Security. They were organized and conducted by the Sports Department under Mr. Hansraj (Sports Manager), Mr. Baiju Kumar (Sports Officer) and Mr. Rakesh (Sports Officer).
Screening of Documentary.
On 12 Jan 2015, birthday of Swami Vivekanand a documentary on his life was screened at Auditorium ‘B’ from 5.30 PM onwards. It was viewed by hostel students numbering about 150, hostel staff, DD-Hostels & Maj Gen Gurpal Singh Bal, DSW & Director Hostels & Security.
Declamation contest.
On 13 Jan 2015, declamation contest was held in Auditorium ‘B’ from 2.30 PM onwards.
Eleven students spoke on the topic, “Vivekanand Ideology".
Five students spoke on the topic, "Role of youth for clean Haryana Clean India campaign”.
The following students were adjudged the winners and were awarded Cash prizes as mentioned:-
Shivang, B. Tech, Bio Med 3 year - First (Awarded cash prize of Rs2000\-).
Jatin Jagia, B. Tech, CSE 3 year -Second (Awarded cash prize of Rs1000\-).
Munshi Pavel Alam, B. Sc Earth Sc 1Year (Awarded cash prize Rs500\-).
