Industrial Visit to Delhi – Amritsar

In the last week of February of 2018, Amity Law School, Amity University Mumbai, went for their first Industrial Visit to Delhi – Amritsar, accompanied by Prof. Amitabh Gawale, Prof. Akshaya Desai and Prof. Pavan Bhadhang for the Seven Day Visit.  


On 25th of February, students were informed to assemble at Mumbai Central Station at 5:00 PM to board the Augustkranti Rajdhani Express which reached Delhi Station at around 12:00 PM on 26th of February, 2018. The same evening students were accompanied by the guide to the India Gate where Prof. Gawale enlightened us about the importance of the monument and Amar Javan. After this we were accompanied to the Sarojini Market for recreation. 

On 27th of February we visited the Delhi Judicial Academy where students had an interactive, intellectual talk with Chairman Prof. Bhushan.T. Kaul, Director (Academics) Mrs. Neena Bansal Krishna,and Additional Director Mr. Rakesh Syal, DHJS. The Second Year and Fourth Year students were asked their preference of law subject and asked to justify the same. They were given a review on their choice and guided in the field of advocacy and judiciary at a very rudimentary level. From there students made their way to the National Human Rights Council (NHRC), where we were enlightened by Mr. O.P.Vyas, Registrar, NHRC and Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, In-charge Online Complaints. Students also took an oath to uphold the Human Rights of the people around us thereby empowering ourselves and others. At the end of the day, students were welcomed by Ms. Lenny Jadhav, a member of the Research Committee of the Indian National Congress. Students were also addressed by Mr. C.P. Joshi, Former Roadways Cabinet Minister. 

On 28th of February, students were accompanied by the guide to understand the history and great heritage of the Red Fort. We also visited Meena Bazar and Chandini Chowk. After lunch in the afternoon, students visited the Supreme Court of India. They were guided by Adv. Avinash Misra, (Practicing lawyer at Supreme Court), about the filing process of the cases at the Supreme Court. 

On 1st of March we travelled to Amritsar by road and in the evening visited Gobindgarh Fort where we enjoyed the light and sound show. The show was about history of Punjab. That night we also visited the Golden Temple for the first time. 

On 2nd of March students were guided to Jallianwala Bagh were they visited the place of massacre and read about the peaceful protest against the Rowlatt Act and the atrocious behavior against them at its museum. Next, on the same day, we went to the Wagha Border Hindustan, where students had very heartening experience. We witnessed the show of strength from both, India and Pakistan and the slogans of Vande Mataram filled everyone with the feeling of love for our motherland, gratitude and patriotism.

On 3rd of March, at 3:00 AM students revisited the shrine of the Golden Temple after which at 7:00 AM students left from Amritsar to Delhi. That evening took the Air India Flight from Delhi International Airport to Mumbai T2 Terminal. 

The students had an intellectual, knowledge imparting, enlightening experience at Delhi which was complemented by the fun-filled, view of the city and humble visit to the Golden Temple and Amritsar. Overall it was complete and enlightening experience.
