International Nurses Day Celebration
Amity College of Nursing, Amity University Gurugram celebrated International Nurses Day on 11th May 2018. The theme chosen for the day was - “Health is a Human Right”
The event was celebrated with an objective of spreading awareness amongst students and faculty members on the right to health as applied to specific groups
In her address on the occasion, Prof (Dr) Pranati Barua, HoD, Amity College of Nursing, shared that it is essential to understand that pervasive inequity has a detrimental impact on the physical and mental health status of individuals, families, and communities. Hence, we must adopt the principle that ‘health’ entails more than just health care.
In order to create awareness regarding ‘International Nurses Day’, the department organized a ‘Panel Discussion’ along with various other Fun Games like Dumb Charades and Musical Chairs.
The event closed with a formal vote of thanks to the audience, organizing team and the participants. The winners of the games were also given prizes by the Head of the Department.
