Amity University Madhya Pradesh organises a Annual Film Festival ‘Cineaste 2017’ on 6th & 7th April, 2017

Amity School of Communication (ASCO) organized its Annual Film Festival ‘Cineaste 2017’ on 6th & 7th April, 2017, that comprised a Film Making Workshop conducted by Dr. Sachin Bharti followed by screening of movie entries selected for the Film Making Competition.

Dr. Sachin Bharti, Assistant Professor, Indraprastha University, New Delhi initiated the event with an interesting lecture session on the differences in Film Cinematography, explored and explained the various camera angles and shots used in Film Making, film technicalities and the significance of continuity in the main-stream Cinema. In his session Dr. Bharti showed discussion on a few short yet impactful movies.This was followed by an interactive session in which the students got answers to their queries on the subject.

A Cultural Performance – “Navras’ was organised by the students of AUMP Cultural-Club under the direction and guidance of Dr. Sandesh Mahajan and team.  The programme was graced by the benign presence of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd.), the Dean of Research, Prof. (Dr.) S P Bajpai, Dean of Academics, Prof. (Dr.) R.S Tomar, Prof. (Dr.) Anil Vashisht, Director, Amity Business School, Prof. (Dr.) Iti Roy Choudhury, Director ASCENT, Prof. (Dr.) Sachin Batra, Dean, Amity School of Communication, Dr. Sumit Narula, Director, Amity School of Communication and all HoIs and HoDs.

On the second day of the Annual Film Festival ‘Cineaste 2017’ the screening of short movies was organised in the University Auditorium and the best of the received entries were shortlisted for the competition. The short film made by Paras Sharma, ‘Sanema’ was awarded the ‘Best Film’. The movie ‘Sanema’ focused on a village boy trying his best to save money take his girl friend out for a movie,only to be astonished and heart-broken to find her outside the Cinema–Hall with his close friend. The other short movies which received special awards for their creativity and innovation are the movies. The Switch for its clever use of VFX and 'Kachra' for the best script. 

Overall, the event remained a very interesting and enlightening experience for everyone.
