Excursion on Indian Cultural Heritage: Visit to the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib

Office of International affairs organized an excursion visit to the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib on February 14th 2018 for its students coming from 27 different countries with different backgrounds and race to develop a sense of togetherness.

International Students were taken for an Indian Cultural Heritage visit to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib that commemorates the visit by the Sikh Guru, Guru Harkishan Sahib. During the visit International students got to know that Gurdwara Bangla Sahib is a palatial structure built of white marble with gold finishing’s and Four of its largest domes are wrapped in gold and exude the brilliance of the sun in the daytime. Students were amazed to know that this opulent edifice was indeed a palace four hundred years ago – the abode of Raja Jai Singh.  After long visit students then assembled in a spacious dining hall – the Langar hall, and sat on the floor in a traditional way and had Langar.

International Students were overwhelmed with the novel learning experience about the rich history of the Indian culture.
