Guest Lecture By Mr Nikhil Taneja Of Yashraj Films

Corporate Resource Center team of Amity University Mumbai arranged a corporate interaction session for Amity School of Communication students at the campus. The honorable guest was Mr. Nikhil Taneja - General Manager - Yashraj Films, at Y-films a digital channel started under the Yash Raj Films Banner. The topic was Storytelling in the creative media today - particularly film and digital
Mr. Taneja addressed the students and told them that he is here to talk about the very famous art of storytelling. Being a remarkable story teller himself, he emphasized how each and every story is important, how each and every story can make a difference. Mr Taneja turned the seminar into an interactive session where the students put their thoughts in front him and expressed their views and opinions. During the seminar Mr Taneja talked about how the digital platform has given the audience various “options” in the field of entertainment. He explained the students how “Social Issues” covered in films are doing more business at the box office than the star studded commercial films. But more than anything he gave the students an insight on how a simple smartphone can be used to tell many stories. Mr Taneja in the most simplest manner explained the students how simple story telling can be really effective and make a change in the world. In the end Mr Taneja left the entire audience motivated, inspired and full of ideas.
Mr Nikhil Taneja also is the host of ‘The Awesome Show with Nikhil Taneja’ for Anupama Chopra’s film companion. Prior to his current profession he was a reporter for Hindustan Times, the played various roles at MTV India and was the creative producer for 2 TV Shows and 6 TV films with Abhinay Deo, Anurag Basu, Anurag Kashyap, Nikhil Advani, Rohan Sippy and Shoojit Sircar.
