 National Nutrition Week 

Amity School of Nursing, Amity University Gurgaon organize a Fruit and Vegetable show at Primary School of Bhangrola village, Gurugram under its umbrella event of National Nutrition week on 7th September 2017 by B.Sc (H) Nursing VI semester students to provide information regarding benefits of fruits and vegetables and through health assessment to find out the diseases or problems among small children.

Nursing students briefed the school children about the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables Because eating plenty of fruits and veggies may help reduce the risk of many diseases, including heart disease, high blood pressure, and cancers. Fruits and veggies are rich in vitamins and minerals that help you feel healthy and energized. Eating a diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables has been linked to improved health.

Mr. V K Nagar (Principal of the School) appreciated the efforts and said that the Fruit and Vegetable show and school health assessment was very beneficial for the students because after completing the programme students have some knowledge regarding benefits of fruits and vegetables and through health assessment some of the hidden problems had been identified and those will be reported the parents.

A spot Poster Competition on the theme of “Better Nutrition: Key to Development” under its National Nutrition week celebration was organized in Community Health Nursing Lab of Amity College of Nursing on 11th September 2017.

All the posters were evaluated by Mr BP Maharatha (Dept of Fine Arts), Mr Pradipta Biswas (Dept of Fine Arts), Ms Richa Singh (Nutrition & Dietetics Dept.) and concluded the session after announcement of the winner as mentioned below.

1st Prize: Ms Divya (B. Sc Nursing 7th Sem)

2nd Prize: Ms Nikki (B. Sc Nursing 5th Sem)

3rd Prize: Ms Madhu (B. Sc Nursing 1st Sem)

 B.Sc Nursing Students of Amity College of Nursing, Gurgaon also organized  one day  Oral Care & Oral Hygiene education  program in PHC, Bhorakalan on 15th September 2017 under the guidance of Ms Rashmi Ballyan (Asst Prof Amity College of Nursing) with the aim to increase the awareness among school students regarding “Oral Care & Oral Hygiene” The activity was appreciated by Dr Indra (Dentition) and Dr Hazarilal (SMO, Bhorakalan).
