1st Amity Youth Parliament on “Right to Privacy and Role of Computer Intelligence

 Amity Law School, Amity University Gurgaon organized the 1st Amity Youth Parliament on the topic “Right to Privacy and Role of Computer Intelligence” on 8th September 2017 in Amity Moot Court with the aim was to provide an insight to the students about how actual Parliament works and provide them exposure to increase their thought process about how to bring change through good and effective legislation to benefit the society at large while protecting various rights of individuals.. The event was a simulation of parliamentary proceeding based on the functioning of Indian Parliament. The event saw the participation of 40 students from almost all the Institutions within Amity University Gurgaon and the conduct of the Participants was judged by a Board comprised of senior students positioned as Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Rapporteur and Executive.

In his Inaugurating speech Maj. Gen G.S Bal (Retd) (Dean Students Welfare) Stressed the need for the students to learn the good practices of Parliamentary procedures and not to create ruckus which we have been witnessing in the Parliament and State Legislatures. A large number of Bills and important issues remain unsettled if proper proceedings are not conducted in our Parliament.

In his welcome speech Maj Gen B S Suhag (Retd) (Deputy Vice Chancellor) coaxed the participants to take keen interest in proper conduct of the proceedings and wished the Event a great success.

The Closing Ceremony was graced by remarkable presence of Prof (Dr) Padmakali Banerjee (Pro Vice Chancellor) advised the participants and the audience to follow the 6 Cs which she has time and again explained to the students. And Six C’s are (i) Choice/Correct selection (ii)Compassion(iii) Creativity (iv) Collaboration (v) Communication and( vi) Critical thinking. She praised the Participants for their knowledge of the subject as well as their manner of presentation. And Felicitate the winner of as:-

A. Best Parliamentarians - Shailabh  Pundir and Vivian Richie.

B. Diligent Parliamentarians -Vipul Batotia, Anuj Yadav and Sahil Garg.

C. Most Eloquent Speakers -Madhumita Kartik Jha, Nikita Sinha, Jonathan and Ruhal.

In his concluding speech of the Event, Maj Gen PK Sharma (Retd) (Director Amity Law School), congratulated the organizers along with his team of ALS students, for an excellent Event.
