Delegation from Zoological Survey of India visits Amity University
A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) and Amity Institute of Forestry and Wildlife (AIFW) at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus. Dr. Kailash Chandra, Director, ZSI signed the MoU with Dr. BL Arya, Registrar, Amity University in the presence of Dr. W. Selvamurthy, DG. ADSI & President ASTIF.
The MoU aims to envisage exchange of researchers, scientist and faculty exchange programmes; research collaborations; joint projects, ZSI scholars joining Amity for PhD programmes and Executive Development Programmes by Amity for the Researchers of ZSI in the Management and Leadership domains.
The delegation comprising of Dr Chandra along with senior scientists Dr. Mukesh Thakur, Dr. UK Singh and Dr. Vikas Kumar was welcomed by Dr. W. Selvamurthy, Dr. D. K. Bandyopadhyay, Chief Advisor FPO & Chairman, ALSs and Dr. N P S Chauhan, Director, AIFW.
Dr. Kailash Chandra spoke about the opportunities and challenges in the field of Zoological Science. He also talked about how India was a land full of fauna and biodiversity giving ample scope of research work and job opportunities. He also stated how the MoU will mutually benefit the students and researches of both the institutes. Dr. Chandra also informed the gathering about the digital archive, DNA Bonding and geospatial data initiatives of ZSI.
