'SAMAGAM’ ABILITY DIWALI MELA 2019
AMITY INSTITUTE OF REHABILITATION SCIENCES ORGANIZED ‘SAMAGAM’ ABILITY DIWALI MELA 2019
The biggest disability is in the mind and when that beautiful space in conquered all disabilities turn to abilities. Creating opportunity by respecting diversity irrespective of disability is the key to achieve skill India mission. With the vision of ‘Inclusion, Equity and Dignity’ and to sensitize the student’s fraternity of Amity Universe, Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh organized 'SAMAGAM ABILITY -DIWALI MELA 2019' on Tuesday, 22nd of October, 2019. The objective was to create awareness, promote social Inclusion and orient the upcoming generation of students group that Persons with Special Needs have a natural and spontaneous feel for creativity and they find real pleasure in developing their creative potential.
Thirteen Institutions working commendably in the field of Disability and Rehabilitation participated and had set up stalls with innovative Diwali and other products made by ‘DIVYANGJAN’ at our vibrant campus, beautifully decorated stalls were set-up by Special Schools namely Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan, Noida, Ananth Centre for Learning and Development, New Delhi, SWAR Special School, Noida , Nirantar Prayas Special School, Noida, Saksham Special School, Noida , Amarjyoti Special School, New Delhi, Tamana Special School, New Delhi, The Delhi Society for the Welfare of Special Children, Okhla Center, New Delhi , Learning Ladder Special School, New Delhi , Society for Advance Study in Rehabilitation (SASR), Faridabad , Rejoice Health Foundation, New Delhi , Armaan Special Education Center (The Advanced Society for the Differently Abled), Four Steps Special School, New Delhi. All the artifacts displayed were prepared by ‘DIVYANGJAN’ benefitting towards Independent Living of Persons with Disability and Children with Special Needs giving them a platform to showcase their talent.
The showcased the abilities of Children with Special Needs. Special children with Multiple Disability, Hearing Impairment, Locomotor Disability, Dwarfism from Amarjyoti Special School, New Delhi performed a beautiful ‘Ghoomar’ traditional Rajasthani Dance and young singing idols with Visual Impairment from Saksham Special School for Visual Impairment, Noida mesmerised the audience with their songs. The performances were highly appreciated by young Amitians.

Selvamurthy , President, Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation, Director General for Amity Directorate of Science and Innovation and Chair Professor for Life Sciences, Dr. Dilip Kumar Bandyopadhyay, Chief Advisor FPO / Chairman ALS and Dr. Lalit M. Bharadwaj, Vice President, Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation, Prof. (Dr.) Jayanti Pujari (Director AIRS) and Ms. Pallavi Chauhan (Joint Director AIRS).
