'SRIJAN: Youth Parliament - A Genesis of Indian Politics' Organized at Amity University
The valedictory ceremony of the 3rd edition of ‘Srijan’, Youth Parliament 2019 on the theme ‘A Genesis of Indian Politics’ was organized by Amity Law School Noida. The two-day event provided a perfect platform for enhancing skills related with the political regime and also preparing young potential parliamentarians by giving them an insight of the technicalities for such delegations and discussions related with Constitution and political system of our Nation and other countries as well.
Srijan is the contribution of Amity Law School, Noida to strengthen the roots of democracy, inculcate healthy habits of discipline and enable the student community to understand the working of our parliamentary institutions. The mock parliament saw participation from 97 participants from across the country from institutes like Delhi University, JNU, ICFAI and various National Law Schools, discussing and deliberating on the burning issues in the country.
Chief Guest, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, Former Minister of HRD & Padma Vibhushan Awardee enlightened the gathering as he shared how “Knowledge should liberate you and make you free, independent and make you have your own mind”. Dr Joshi told the students how the seeds of democracy were in the country even during the times of Ramayana with sense of free thinking and open consensus being there. Tracing the long history of our democracy and political system, Dr Joshi encouraged students to define their agenda clearly before entering politics. “We need to constantly discuss on how to make the system open and make the government more responsive. Indian political system is at a stage where deeper questions should be discussed by young and aspiring minds,” said Dr Joshi
Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh lauded the efforts of the students in creating a stimulating environment to discuss, deliberate and work like a parliamentarian. The glittering ceremony also saw the release of a Souvenir and a Book on Artificial Intelligence. Also present on the occasion were Prof. (Dr.) D.K.
