Students of Amity University spread awareness on Social Issues through Powerful Play Performances

 

As part of weekly ‘Friday Production’ organized by Amity School of Film and Drama, students of B.A Acting programme performed sequences of plays directed by veteran Indian theatre director, Mr. Feisal Alkazi and his team members, Ms. Mona Chawla and Mr. Vishwakant Singha, today at Amity University Sector 125 Noida.

 

The students performed the thought-provoking sequences depicting social values, life choices and their consequences based on social issues such as women empowerment, marital issues and disability struggles etc.

 

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Feisal Alkazi shared that the brilliant act of the students is an outcome of the 10-day long workshop and these performances are the opening sequences of different plays learnt during the workshop. He apprised that the aim of the workshop is to familiarize the budding artists with the aesthetic understanding of the craft and techniques of the theatre. During the 10-day workshop, students were exposed to the techniques of approaching the script, performing and taking up different roles and characters etc. Mr Feisal lauded the students for working hard in mastering the lines and performing in front of live audience.

 

Mrs. Pooja Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity School of Film and Drama applauded the students for their spectacular performances and thanked Mr. Feisal Alkazi and his team for training the students that will aid them in pursuing their passion towards theatre and films. She expressed her hope that every student will be a success story in this field, be it as an actor, director, filmmaker etc.

 

The play was attended by hundreds of students, faculty members and senior officials of Amity University.
