“Open House @ Amity University” : A Platform for Aspirants to Explore Career Opportunities
Amity University organized its first ever Open House programme at its Noida Campus today, in which thousands of aspiring students along with their parents and guardians turned up to resolve their queries regarding admissions at Amity.
Welcoming the parents, guardians and students during the occasion, Professor Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University exclaimed that this Open House provides a wonderful platform to the parents and aspiring students to know their university well and satisfy their own specific needs and expectations from the University. She said that through this initiative, students can visit the respective institutions in which they wish to take admission, meet the faculty members and choose their career more wisely. She expressed that it is also a great opportunity for the parents to get updated with the fresh courses that are being introduced every year for the students.
Major General Bhaskar Chakravarty, Director, Admissions elaborated about the various departments, courses and facilities provided by Amity University. He gave a detailed overview about Education 4.0 which aligns the academic education with the needs of the industry. He apprised that Amity University has strong collaboration with almost major Universities of the world which makes its education of global standards. Responding to a query on B.A (Gen) program, recently introduced by Amity University, he said that, “The course not only prepares the female aspirants to join the Defense Services but also opens to other career options for them in the future.” He responded to several queries raised by parents regarding new courses, career prospects in those courses and placement opportunities. Parents expressed their joy over the vast banquet of courses Amity was offering and suggested to start programmes in NCC, Civil Services preparation, Health Management System etc.
Students of Amity warmly welcomed the parents and aspirants to the exhibition set-up by researchers of Amity University in which 51 Start-up projects like Indigo Dream, Local Farming, Colognes, Engineering Mechanisms, Product Designs, Drones etc. were displayed. Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) displayed various Engineering projects and designs like Reduction of Green House gases in Car Cabins, Drones navigated ambulance, Human detection in Snow etc. which can be implemented for general use of public. Amity School of Design (ASD) displayed various, paintings, designs models, projects and antiques which created an awareness in the field of design and architecture. Radio Amity 107.8 FM also set-up a dummy radio station for the entertainment of guests wherein aspirants showed great enthusiasm. A bioscope reminding ancient era of films was the attraction for all film making aspirants.
A visit of the aspirants was arranged to their preferred institutions offering the course of their choice where they were briefed about the University and the course curriculum. Posters and Placards of special achievers of Amity were displayed in different blocks and information was imparted regarding research projects, higher education, placements and start-up ventures.
Aditya Verma, an aspiring B.Tech (CSE) student said that the curriculum seems very promising to him and that he is looking forward to enroll himself at Amity. Mr. Manish Verma, his father said that he was deeply impressed by the hospitality and the information that he received at the university. Shweta, an aspiring PhD. Scholar, expressed that she has great expectations from the university and committed to work hard on her own part.
A guided tour was also arranged for the aspirants and their parents to the Central library, Mass communication Studio, Amity Organic farm and various other laboratories of Amity University.
