Common Yoga Protocol Pre-Session Programme held at Amity University, Noida.
To encourage students practice yoga and inculcating among them healthy lifestyle habits, Amity Institute of Indian System of Medicine (AIISM) in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, as per the guidelines of UGC, conducted a Common Yoga Protocol Pre-Session programme at Amity University, Noida.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. B.C Das, Dean, Amity Institute of Behavioral Health and Allied Sciences (AIBHAS) said that it is extremely essential to understand the science behind yoga if we want to stay fit and healthy. Regularly practicing yoga will help one stay healthy not only physically but also mentally. Today the whole world has understood the importance of practicing yoga in their daily lives. “At Amity we encourage the students to practice yoga regularly in order to keep them healthy. In the current scenario, people usually get sick because of poor lifestyle habits, in such a situation yoga turns out to be our savior,” he added.
Dr. S.K Rajput, Director, Amity Institute of Indian System of Medicine (AIISM) apprised that this Common Yoga Protocol Pre-Session programme has been organized as per the directions of the UGC, as mark of preparation of International Day Yoga 2019.
On this occasion, eminent Yoga Practitioner Shri Anil Arya demonstrated and deliberated about the various asanas like Tadasana,Vr?iks?asana, Pada-Hastasana, Ardha C?akrasana, Triko?asana Ardha U??rasana, Ankasana, Vakrasana etc.
Sharing her views, Dr. Tanu Jindal, Group Additional Pro Vice-Chancellor (R&D) said that Yoga has been the key to curb several chronic diseases and has proved vital in the treatment of diabetes. Therefore, all of us must practice yoga everyday and also encourage others to practice the same.
Pilot study of an application, which is being designed to rectify the problems caused by improper posture by Dr. S.K Rajput and his team, was also conducted. An interactive session on “Correct your posture” was also held during the occasion.
