GLRC -2019 concludes at Amity

 

The second and the final day of GLRC – 2019 witnessed thought provoking, interesting and informative discussions and deliberations by leading Academicians and Corporate Leaders from various industries at Amity University, Noida.

A panel discussion was held on the theme, “Maneuvering role of HR in the age of disruption” by HR professionals from different organizations.

Initiating the panel discussion, Ms. Aprajita Sarmah, Director HR, Metlife said that the HR plays a pivotal role in any organization. The policies made by the HR should be able to cater to the needs of the employees. She exclaimed that the basic tents of HR remain the same, what changes is the ecosystem. Addressing the students, she said, “What you need to keep in mind is that innovations must always be rewarded, and you need to be relevant to your role in the organization. These two things will take you far.”

Mr. Ashish Chattoraj, Country HR Director, NXP India, talked about the importance of value system in an organization. Addressing the students, he said that it is important how you accept failure because innovations come along with failure. He said that a culture is built by respecting a thought process and building a healthy culture in any organization is of utmost importance.

The valedictory session of the event witnessed the participation of Alumni of ABS who have made their mark in the industry along with academicians and industrialists.

Sharing his views during the valedictory session, Dr. Sanjiv Bansal, Director General, Amity Business School said that in these two days of the conference we have achieved a lot wherein 48 eminent speakers shared their experiences with the students and 106 research papers were presented by various academicians. He thanked the students and faculties for their relentless efforts that they have put to make GLRC – 2019 successful.

Mr. Kshitij Doval, Founder and CEO, Unhu Entertainment LLP, an alumni of ABS, expressed that innovation is nothing without efficiency and efficiency is not long lived without innovation. Sharing his experiences, he said that the industry requires good leaders who work with the team and create synergy. He averred that having a clear goal and firm belief in yourself are two extremely important factors to make your mark in any industry.

 

Dr. Badar Alam Iqbal, Emeritus Professor and Chairman, FBIAR & IUBAT said that globalization has created some major challenges for academia and the industry. He said that in the current scenario simply having knowledge is not enough, you must always keep trying to update your knowledge. Addressing the students, he said that “Excellence lies in commitment, so if you can commit yourself to a target, then nothing in this world can stop you from attaining it.” Coping with changes is the biggest challenge for the academia, shared Dr Badar.
