Guest Lecture by Chef Gunjal Goela

A guest lecture was organized by Amity School of Hospitality to motivate the students towards professionalism and to understand different sectors of food production.

She has been a chef for more than 18 years and had the privilege to cook for our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi along with the presidents and dignitaries of various countries, recently in Mumbai for Make in India. She has also handled a grand catering for Mr. L.N. Mittal’s dinner in London. Presently, she is handling Antalya catering for about 5,000 guests for a grand wedding. She has also catered to some of the most important industrialists like Ambani, Goenka and Modi. She was invited by the Italian government as am eminent speaker on Principals of Ayurveda consecutively for four years.

Chef Gunjal Goela was invited for the talk which was very interactive and motivational. She started her talk by mentioning that students who are interested in food production have career not only in hotels but they can also work in food related other areas like they can become food critics, flavor developers and many other areas. She emphasized on the importance of hard work and being truthful to the guests. She said that it is utmost important to give personalized service to guests to make them loyal and it can be done through making the guests’ dishes in their preferred way, by presenting it differently, by making them feel important by just even remembering their names. She added that in the initial years of career students need to be very hard working and take initiative towards the tasks. She influenced the students with the talk so much that the question/answer session went for about 20-30 minutes. Students showed their interest and they were happy to receive such influential and motivational talk. After the session Chef Gunjan Goela was facilitated by Prof Pranshu Chomplay. There was a faculty interaction with Chef Goela followed by special interaction with students of MBA (Hospitality). She was taken for a round to show the infrastructure of Amity School of Hospitality.
