Amity Humanity Foundation (AHF) imparts “Sewing Machine Operator Training Course” to women from Noida villages under Skill Development Mission
Amity Humanity Foundation (AHF) conducted the second batch of three months long “Sewing Machine Operator Training course” for girls and women of Noida villages under the CSR programme of ONGC. The Course concluded today with the felicitation of the participants with Certificates at University Campus, Sector-125, Noida.
The programme aimed at making the trainees empowered and self-dependent by providing them a source of respectable livelihood. Over 35 girls and women from nearby villages in Noida such as Asgarpur, Raipur and Chalera attended the programme, wherein the trainees were provided free raw materials and Stitching Machines to facilitate skill enhancement. During three months meticulously designed training programme, conducted at Amity University campus, the faculty trainers from AHF not only taught them nuances of stitching but also worked on enhancing their soft skills including communication skills.Special Yoga classes were conducted to ensure to their holistic well- being.The programme provided a new hope and direction to the trainees who, during the Ceremony, evinced unparalleled confidence and zeal to open boutiques in future and stitch designer clothes, thereby becoming self-reliant and self-sufficient.
Congratulating the trainees on the successful completion of the programme, Ms. Pooja Chauhan- Vice Chairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation stated that the programme aims at not only empowering the trainees but also strengthen the country through them. She stressed that Amity Humanity Foundation aims at making India a “Super Power” in next 10-20 years which is possible through empowering each and every human being of the country.She called upon the trainees to live upto the expectations of their families and pursue the skills which have been taught under the programme for the betterment of their livelihood. He expressed her conviction that the women trainees have been empowered to bring about a change their villages, their surroundings and country. She encouraged them to stay disciplined, smiling in their lives and keep their village and country neat and clean, thereby, contributing to“Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan”.
Ms. Komal Chauhan- one of the Trainee participants from Asgarpur village, Noida thanked Amity and ONGC for designing the self-empowering programme for them and giving them a pedestal to move ahead in their life with confidence. She stated that during three months, she learnt how to stitch ladies kurtas, different kinds of ladies salwaars, dresses, lehengas, baby clothes, gents’ pants and shirts. She assured that the trust that ONGC and AHF has reposed in her by shortlisting her for the training programme will not go waste and she will pursue the art of stitching as her source of livelihood.
The trainees presented a skit during the occasion which highlighted the hardships and challenges faced by Social Help Groups and NGOs in small villages while convincing people about the benefits of various skill enhancement programmes designed for them and to enroll their family members in the same.
