6-weeks Technology Based Entrepreneurship Development Programme (TEDP), jointly organized by Amity and National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, concludes

The6-weeks Technology Based Entrepreneurship Development Programme (TEDP), jointlyorganized by Amity Center for Entrepreneurship Development,EntrepreneurshipDevelopment Institute, Ahmedabad and National Science and TechnologyEntrepreneurship Development Board, Department of Science &Technology fromSeptember 9 to November 6, 2017 at Amity University Noida Campus, concludedtoday with  the distribution ofParticipation Certificates to 50 student participants from various Institutionsof Amity.

Mr. Vijay Kumar, Director, MSME and Dr. B Shukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University presented the Certificates to the participants.

Addressing the future entrepreneurs and congratulating them for the successful completion of the Programme, Mr. Vijay Kumar, Director, MSME stated that jobs across the world are shrinking due to development of new technologies. He advised participants that in order to survive they have to think how they can develop effective and best quality products through right technology which will be accepted by the people and society. He remarked that an Entrepreneur is a free bird but at the same time, he is dedicated, committed and passionate towards his business idea and enterprise. He expressed that in next 3-4 years, India may beat China’s economy owing to young entrepreneurs and their innovative products. He stressed that TEDP Programme aimed at preparing students to become successful entrepreneurs and MSME is committed to provide all possible assistance in terms of Finance, Modification of business ideas and developing new products to the students aspiring to become entrepreneurs from any part of the country.

Welcoming the distinguished guests and participants, Prof.(Dr.) Neelam Saxena- Professor & Head, Amity Centre for Entrepreneurship Development stressed that there is a vital component missing in current education system- the entrepreneurship skills which are must in global economy.She opined that skills have to be made part of students’ DNA right from early ages and they have to be encouraged to create new knowledge through research..She remarked that if an entrepreneur has creative ideas, perseverance and proper technology to support the ideas, then nothing can stop him. Talking about TEDP, she remarked that the Programme helped the participants to visualize their future so that they can come up with new ideas. She outlined that the Programme was divided into 3 parts- “Idea Generation”, “Business Development” and a short module on “Managerial Skills” to help participants for taking their business ideas ahead in society.

Sharing her views and addressing the participants, Dr. (Mrs.) B Shukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University commended them for deciding to become entrepreneurs -the boss of their own selves and reminded them that entrepreneurship requires lot of discipline, persisting passion for the business idea and a spirit to sacrifice lot many things en route to success.She advised them that a client can trust them once but in order to retain the trust; an entrepreneur has to keep working hard. She remarked that scalability of the business idea is as important as its sustainability.  She stressed that it is a very opportune time in India when entrepreneurship ecosystem is being promoted big time in the country and motivated the participants to make the most of the opportunities present in the country.

Also present during the occasion were Prof.(Dr.)Sanjeev Bansal-Dean & Director –Amity Business School, Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Pandey-Co-Convener-TEDP and Professor, Amity Institute of Telecom Engineering and Management.
