“Education sector and Innovation will fuel the growth of the world” avers His Excellency, Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan during Renvoi 2017- a Case Study Competition at Amity
Withthe objective of re-strengthening the research excellence and developing newinsights amongst students, Amity Business School Noida organized 11thedition of “Renvoi 2017- a Case Study Competition” on the theme BusinessPerspectives in Emerging Markets at Amity University Noida campus.
Renvoi2017 provided a platform to deliberate upon complex business situationsdemanding an innovative and re-inventive approach to ensure businesssustainability. The aim of the competition was to understand the strategicperspectives of various organizations globally to strengthen theirsustainability in the emerging market economy.
Thecompetition witnessed submission of more than 40 case studies across the globeincluding China, United Kingdom, United States, Nigeria and Africa. Afterrigorous review and appropriateness with the theme, 28 case studies wereselected to be presented during the day.
Mr.Aakash Tandon was declared the winner for 11th edition of “Renvoi 2017. Ms. Rachna Yaduvanshi won 1st Runner Ups prize for herpresentation on “Over Speed Recording by HTMS on Noida/Greater Noida Expressway”.Mr. Shikhar Nigam, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow and M. Waqas Umar,jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow had a tie for 2nd RunnerUps position for their presentation on “case Study of Marketing Analytics” and “CaseStudy on Changing Emission Standards in Automobile Industry in India”
Highlightingthe importance of Research, Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Director, Amity BusinessSchool said that research helps students grow in both personal and professionallife as it is about re-inventing and re-searching with so many areas toexplore. Dr. Bansal opined that research is multi disciplinary which cannot beclassified, qualified or quantified. He pointed out that research is a journeywhich can be successfully completed if a person has passion and dedication.
Addressingthe gathering, His Excellency Farhod Arziev, Ambassador Extraordinary &Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan shared a brief presentationabout Uzbekistan and said that Uzbekistan is a young country with ancienthistory of great scholars. He emphasized that over the years, relations betweenthe two nations, India and Uzbekistan, have developed exponentially in allspheres. He expressed his country’s interest in International partnerships,especially with Indian Educational Institutions in the area of Research andScience. He averred that the education sector and innovation will fuel thegrowth of the world. His Excellency Farhod Arziev extended an invitationto Amity University for joint research works and start up projects inassociation with Uzbekistan’s Universities.
Speakingon the occasion, Prof. S. Swarup, Former Deputy Director General, Ministryof Commerce and Industry, Government of India said that in the era ofGlobalization, need of the hour is to restructure Business EducationalInstitutions. He stressed that business schools must be equipped withtraditional education system and should also teach responsibilities andleadership skills as core values in business education. He averred that havinga good idea is not enough but it is important to convert that into a successfulbusiness model. Prof. Swarup averred that learning should be interactive inclassrooms and suggested that sustainability must be integrated in curriculumof business schools. He pointed out that effective integration with Governmentdepartments is required as it is important to educate budding professionalsabout Government’s rules and regulations. He called upon the business schoolsto impart training in areas of purchase management, conceptual management andsupply chain management to students for providing holistic knowledge of thefield.
Sharinghis views, Dr. R.K. Suri, University Placement Officer Jamia Millia Islamia-CentralUniversity, New Delhi said that it is expected from management students todo futuristic research. He highlighted that in coming time, growth of theNation will neither be led by exports sector nor manufacturing sector or largeemployees but it will be through domestic consumption, services and smallbusinesses. He called upon the budding professionals to aim high by believingin themselves and also to scale their work. He further added that youngstersare the ones who will drive the future for economic growth by pushing existingboundaries.
Duringthe competition, paper presentation were made on various topics such as“Strategies to be adopted towards the Implementation of New Management System& marketing Strategies in Cobef International Ltd” by Mr. Neeraj Kumar,Executive, COBEF International Ltd, Nigeria; “Negative Impact of HRPolicies on Employees” by Group Captain Vinod, Indian Air Force; “Success Storyof a Businessman” by Ms. Yasha Ashra & team, Jaipuria Institute of Management,Lucknow; “Challenges and Opportunities in Automobile Industry” by Mr. AyushSharma, Manager- Supply Chain Management, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd Gurgaon;“Challenges and Opportunities of Employee Engagement in Healthcare Industry” byMs. Prachee Mittal Tandon, Research Scholar, Lingaya’s University, Faridabad
