7th Industry Academia Meet by Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture
The annual Industry- Academia Meet was organized by Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture, Amity University, sector 125, Noida Campus with an objective to provide the platform for the interaction of Industry and Academia, thereby, facilitating the holistic grooming of the students through experiential learning.
Thetheme of the meet was “Smart Business Solution for Efficient Agriculture and Food Value Chain”.
The meet started after the opening remarks of Dr.K S Bains, Advisor, Amity Institute of Training and Development. Dr. Naleeni Ramawat, Director, Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture briefed about the Institute and its functioning.
The First panel discussion was chaired by Mr. Kamal Kumar- Sr. General Manager, Dhanuka Agritech Limited and panel members included Mr. Tanmaye Seth- Managing Director, Aquagri Processing Pvt. Ltd., Mr Sudhanshu Jangir- Chief Executive Officer, Guj Pro Agri Business, Mr. Satish Tiwari- GM-N&E, Coromandel International Ltd, Mr. R K Mishra (GM-Admin & General Affairs, EL worldAgro & Organic Foods Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Sanjiv Kanwar- Country Manager, Yara Crop Nutrition-BU Asia. The panel discussed about the huge potential of India to increase the productivity, crop losses, biofuels,opportunities of business in food and agri sector in India, organic vs conventional farming and importance of organic agriculture.
The Second panel discussion was chaired by Mr. Sagar Kurade- Consultant Managing Director, Suman Foods and comprised of panel members – Ms. SonalAgarwal- General Manager, Gustora Foods Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Hemant Chopra- Head-North India, Fruit Valley, Ms. Rupali Gupta- DGM-QA & Supply Chain, Wok To Walk, Mr Kanishk Marwah, -Managing Director, Zerovia International Pvt ltd. The panel discussed about role of value chain in food management, wastage along the food supply chain and supply chain governance.
The Industry experts appreciated the programmes which are being taught at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level and also recommended and suggested some courses that can be further included, taking into consideration the industry requirements.
Mr. R K Mishra-GM-Admin & General Affairs, ELworld Agro & Organic Food Pvt. Ltd.invited the students to their organic farm in Noida for the practical learning. Two of the invited delegates on behalf of their companies,offered the students to be associated in the Live projects with them, whereas,rest of the eight companies also showed open arms to the students for internships and Placements.
