Domain of ‘Engineering & Technology’ in association with AEE Amity Chapter organizes Guest lecture on “Energy Management as a Career”

Domain of Engineering and Technology, Amity University in association with AEEAmity Chapter organized a Guestlecture on “Energy Management as a Career” at Amity UniversityUttar Pradesh, Noida Campus 

 

Addressing the gathering,Prof. (Dr.) K.M. Soni- Dy. Dean, Engg. & Tech., Amity University welcomed the distinguished guests and provided the basic information needed for becoming an efficient energy engineer.

Mr. Dalip Singh - President, AEE Delhi chapter, introduced AEE Delhi Chapter and enlightened students about the various concerns regarding energy and its need. He advised students to understand the basic working of the energy managers and various sources of energy which can be converted to renewable sources.

Mr. B.K. Choudhury,Additional Director, AEE Asia shared his expert views on how young engineers can have a bright future working in power industries and  explained various topics and knowledge required to have an efficient future in energy management sector.

He encouraged students to move into the Energy Management sector and gave brief introduction about various components like power grid, transformers, and transmission systems. He informed students that after graduation, energy intensive conservation projects can be undertaken. He also talked about energy stars or EER ratio. He highlighted the effect of irregular consumption of electricity on environment. He stressed that energy management and saving is a social responsibility which has to be undertaken by each individual. He outlined various programmes that can be pursued as energy auditors and energy managers.

Mr.Choudhury informed that AEE is one of the largest bodies of energy professionals and has a major role in conducting world energy efficiency conference (WEEC). He enlightened that now the Govt. of India has released a paper regarding the efficient use of electric vehicles and emissions involved.He explained about the tariff that is charged according to the lean and rich supply of electricity at different times of the day. He spoke about the use of solar energy in big institutes like Amity University and how they can be useful for both cities and at large. He encouraged students to start from small projects and then grow to earn big and advised them to plan their careers wisely in energy management sector as  large amount of scope exists for various energy managers.

Dr. Alpana Goel, Student Advisor, AEE Delhi Chapter, stressed that industry interaction is extremely important along with Classroom teaching and can be facilitated through Seminars and Conferences. She called upon the students to make the most of the deliberations and presentations which would bring out knowledge beyond books. She emphasized that expert talks help in making students industry ready.

She appreciated the efforts of the student chapter for efficiently organizing the event and making it a huge success.
