Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, AUUP celebrates International Women’s Day, as part of Amity Human Values Quarter 2017

Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, AUUP celebrated International Women’s Day-‘Nari Tujhe Salaam’ as part of ‘Amity Human Values Quarter’- 2017 to mark women empowerment.

The specific values that drive International Women's Day provide an important parameter for guiding the action, behaviors and ethos associated with this critical and globally-supported day. ‘Human Values Quarter’ at Amity Universe provides aright platform to students to practice values in thought, word and deed everyday in order to fully manifest and realize the core values of humanity and social responsibility.

The event was graced by Ms. Chaaya Chordia,Director, Hostels, AUUP.

The event aimed at inculcation of “101 Attributes of an Amitian” in all students enhancing their holistic development; to sensitize the students so that the norms and values of human rights and duties as an educationist are realized, to create awareness, conviction and commitment to values for improving the quality of life through education and for advancing social and human wellbeing, promotion of ethics and social responsibility towards empowerment of women with disabilities and enhance their potential for independent living.

The students showcased their explicit talents in solo/duet dance, self-composed poetry and singing competition dedicating the day to the “Aura of Women”.

Addressing the students,Dr. Jayanti Pujari, Associate Professor and Director, AIRS said,“Women’s rights are human rights and empowering women and girls is the only way to protect their rights and make sure they can realize their full potential. It is necessary to bring gender equality or we can say that gender equality is very necessary to empower women. Dr. Pujari also stressed that ‘Amity Human Values Quarter’ is a distinct value driven initiative by Amity Universe and every Amitian should live up to the dreams and value based vision of honourable Founder President, Dr.Ashok K. Chauhan who has been role model and constant inspiration in making each one of us socially responsible and explore the various facets of humanity.”

The celebrations concluded with a vibrant ‘Fashion Show’ themed ‘Ethnic Beauty of Indian Women’. The event was coordinated byMs. Anusuya K. Yadav and Ms. Diana Lil Philip, Assistant Professor, AIRS, AUUP.
