Amity in association with Berger Paints conducts the first ever “Paint Application Course” for Industrial and Domestic Painters

Amity Institute of Training Development (AITD) in association with Berger Paints conducted, first of its kind, one month “Paint Application Course” for Industrial and Domestic Painters from the unorganized sector at Amity Campus, Sector- 125, Noida.

The objective of this training programme was to improve the Paint Application processes through increased awareness regarding the new products launched by the Company and their application on exterior and interior surfaces. The awareness disseminated through the programme would ultimately benefit Applicators, Users, Dealers and Manufacturers.

The training module was carefully planned after receiving inputs from customers, manufacturers, scientists and painters themselves. The program will be repeated in NCR and other cities gradually.

34 painters from Noida/ NCR participated in the specially designed course in which they learnt a wide range of soft skils like customer relations, customer delight, communication skils etc from the trainers from Amity Institute of Training and Development and technical skils including types of paints & technology, designer painting, exterior- interior painting, spray painting, roller painting etc. from Berger Paint professionals.

Presenting the certificates to the participants during the Valediction ceremony, Mr Abijit Roy, Managing Director – Berger Paints expressed his concern over the lack of colleges/ institutes offering courses in “ Domestic/ Industrial Painting” especially when the estimated size of paint industry in India is over 29, 000 crores and there is a likelihood that the growth of the industry would double in the next 5 years. The painters in India, he remarked, learn the skils of the profession either through their friends or with their own experience. There are new designs, new applications which are regularly introduced by various paint companies and information is passed on to the dealers. They are not able to disseminate such info to all the painters due to paucity of time and ability to contact all the painters. He assured the painters that more of such training programmes involving direct interaction between Berger Company and painters will be organized in future to benefit them.

Sharing his views during the occasion, Mr. K S Bains - Director General, AITD congratulated all the painters on the successful completion of the Course. He stressed that there are numerous good quality paints available in the market but it really depends upon the painter and the way he applies the paint which will determine how good the paint would look after the final application to the surface. Therefore, it is very important for a painter to be well versed with new products and their painting techniques.

Beaming with joy on receiving the Certificate, Kaleem Alam- a Painter from Sector-63, Noida thanked Amity University and Berger Paints for enriching his knowledge about the new products available in the market including “Environment Friendly paints”, “Metallic PU”, “Weather Paints” etc and the right techniques to apply them. He stressed that the training programme has apprised him with the myriad ways to deal with the customers their satisfaction and delight, striking fruitful conversations with them and how the convince the customers about the quality of the products.

Vinod Gupta- a Painter from Sector-71, Noida shared that the training programme has immensely benefitted him. He not only learnt the theory but also gained practical knowledge about the application of various new paints and their application techniques including spray painting, texture painting etc. He suggested that there should be standardization of painting rates across the country, keeping in view the arbitrary rates charged by different painters and contractors across the city.

Also present during the occasion were Mr. Avijit Dutta, Chief Manager-Marketing, Berger Paints and Major Vinod Krishna- Director, AITD
