Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences organized lecture on "Mental Retardation: Prenatal, Natal and Postnatal Causes." by Dr. Arun Kumar, June 21, 2012 during the Faculty Lecture Series Program-06 as a part of AIBHAS Faculty Lecture Series Programme.
Prof (Dr)K.K. Chatopadhya, Director, AIFS also attended the lecture . Faculty members from AIPS, AIBHAS, AIVI,AIFS attended the Lecture. Dr. Arun Kumar shared with the audiences about the various causes of the brain damage during gestation (prenatal),delivery process(Natal ) and after birth(Post natal) till the age of 18 yrs. He also discussed about the chromosomal and metabolic disorders. He had presented the various clinical cases of diagnostic Brain scan and MRI.
Prof (Dr) Chattopadhya enlightened the audiences regarding the genetic counseling and its relevance in combating mental retardation. He also shared with the audience his experiential knowledge in this field. Question answer session was interactive and informative for the audience.Prof (Dr).Chattopadhya felicitated the speaker for making such a presentation.
