Seychelles High Commission Delegates Visit Amity University

The High Commissioner (Designate) Mr. Waven William and the First Secretary Mr J.C. Adrienne of Seychelles High Commission visited the Amity University, Noida campus on march 1st, 2012 to discuss the various possibilities of Cooperation between Amity University and Seychelles Universities.

The delegates were welcomed by the Maj. Gen. K. Jai Singh, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Balwinder Shukla, Pro Vice Chancellor (A) and several HOI’s. They were introduced to various areas of academics where Amity and Seychelles universities can join hands and form collaborations. Emphasis had been given on Horticulture, Microbiology, Marine Sciences, Student/Faculty exchange programs, and training programs.

H.E. Mr. Waven William, High Commissioner, Seychelles High Commission, expressed keen interest towards Amity University and the wide area of academic intervention it offers. He showed his admiration towards the immense progress of the university and his intent to go forward with a successful and fruitful collaboration between universities of Seychelles and Amity.

Vice Chancellor, Maj. Gen. K. Jai Singh during his interaction with the delegates laid emphasis on the various technical courses that Amity University offers to its students and how students from other universities would benefit through student exchange programs.

Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Pro Vice Chancellor (A) while addressing the gathering, mentioned various activities where Seychelles Universities would like to participate in. Amity University extends a hand forward to collaborate in any doctoral programs or joint projects with Seychelles universities.

An introduction was given about horticulture, Marine science, Tourism, microbiology and the Amity Innovation Incubator programs in order to highlight the progress of these departments and their activities as well as mainlining the particular aspects where collaboration could be brought forward. Amity offers to extend help in the areas of Teacher Training, Corporate Education, Pan African Network, Farmer’s Training as well as Banking & Finance.
