Dr. B R Shetty-CEO and MD of NMC Group of Companies, Abu Dhabi visits Amity University
Dr. B R Shetty-CEO and MD of NMC (New Medical Centre) Group of Companies, Abu Dhabi and UAE Exchange visited Amity University Campus, Sector-125, Noida in order to mull over the collaborative options between Amity Educational Group, India and his education initiative in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. B R Shetty during his meeting with Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Education Group expressed his heart felt gratitude for being able to visit Amity University and meet its Founder President. During vital discussions and deliberations between two great visionaries, Dr. Shetty suggested a 9 acres site at Abu Dhabi on which he intends to start a quality educational institute and proposed that if Amity is interested in starting its school there, then the Group would be Dr. Shetty’s first choice and will be given preference.
Dr. Ashok K Chauhan conceded to Dr. Shetty’s proposal and announced to start Amity International School in Abu Dhabi which will offer CBSE, IB and even UAE curriculum and cater to the educational needs of 69 nationalities living in perfect harmony in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Shetty, further, proposed to give complete autonomy to Amity for building and running its school to the best of the interests of the natives of community. The mutually agreed upon venture will be a yet another CSR and social initiative of two great leaders, committed to betterment of humanity and transformation of the society.
Dr. Shetty also invited the faculty of Amity University to Abu Dhabi for carrying out the R& D activities. He called upon the researchers and scientists of Amity to step up their research, file more patents and finally, commercialize them for the benefit of our country. He also advised them to conduct a research on the Nano-chip which could be installed in the wrist watch to monitor the sugar level in the blood and if found high, could also administer right dosage of Insulin.
He requested Dr. Chauhan to start Amity Medical School as soon as possible to churn out professionals who could contribute remarkably in the field of healthcare and wellness.
The researchers, scientists and faculty members of Amity University had the rarest opportunity to interact with Dr. BR Shetty and apprise him with the breakthrough research they have been carrying on in their respective areas ranging from “Sensors based on Nanotechnology”, “ Anti- malarial drugs”, “Infertility”, “ Herbal Medicines”, “ Insect Resistant Cotton Transgenics”, “Cardiovascular diseases” and many more. Dr. B R Shetty also shared his inputs and gave them important suggestions for enhancing their research works. He also called upon the scientists and researchers of Amity University to initiate research in the area of “Endorphins” which can be used to fight growing stress among the human beings.
