Amity International School, Mayur Vihar organises Grandparents Day
They hold our tiny hands for just a while but our hearts forever''. It was indeed our greatest pleasure to have the opportunity to thank and share our love and appreciation for our Grandparents as Class-I celebrated Grandparents day on 30th Nov.2011.
Our Respected Chairperson Dr.(Mrs) Amita Chauhan ma’am believes that values must be instilled in the young minds right from their tender age. Working towards this endeavour we celebrate this day each year to make her dream come true. The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp amidst chanting of shlokas by the young school choir. Thereafter a special song composed exclusively for the grandparents was sung by the children touching their hearts with the words "grandma we love you". A warm welcome with words of appreciation and gratitude was given by the Principal Mrs Sarita Aggarwal. This was followed by a foot thumping dance on ''Bal Hanuman''. A play with the message ''Parishram hei safalta ki kadi hai'' was staged by the children of class-II showcasing their acting skils.
At the end, all the Grandparents joined up for a few interesting, innovative games giving them an opportunity to participate and show their talent, be it in singing or dancing with their partner. A programme of this stature brought the children closer to their grandparents thus strengthening bonds, making each other feel important, wanted and special. Finally a small gift made by the children was given to each grandparent as a symbol of love and regard for the limitless and selfless love bestowed upon them.
