Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism organises Heritage Walk under the aegis of Amity Human Value Quarter

A Heritage Walk was organized by Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, on 23 March, 2012. This activity was conducted under the aegis of Amity Human Value Quarter, 2012. The walk, initiated by the institute, was the famous Mehrauli Archaeological Park walk. Popularly known as Jamali Kamali, this Park is unique in being dotted with ruins from early medieval times to the 19th century. Its main attractions include the mosque and tomb of Jamali, a stepwell and residence of a British official.

A lot of students from the institutes of the university, namely – Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism, Amity School of Hospitality, Amity Institute of Education, Amity Institute of Physiotherapy participated enthusiastically. They covered the following monuments: Metcalfe’s Folly, Rajon ki Baoli, Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb, Balaban’s Tomb, Chaumukha Darwaza and Quli Khan’s Tomb.

Our faculty members took the responsibility of handling all the students and the event went off successfully.

It was a great experience for the students. They felt the importance of heritage and realized it should stay with them. It was not only a walk but an endeavour to understand that the culture and tradition of our country should stay imbibed in the modern lives.
